The Balloon in the Room - Moderating Ego

Ego isn’t a bad thing. Over-inflated ego is.

In this session, we imagine that an ego is like a balloon; inflated not only based on the different elements of our character, but also dynamically influenced by the situations we find ourselves in.

We can moderate or ego, and which elements we need to deploy; negotiating a contract requires a different presence to holding a coaching session with one of your team.

We need to make space for everyone else in the room.

But what if we don’t moderate it? What if we remain over-inflated at all times?

In this scenario, we fail to make space for others; we become the balloon that fills the room, preventing others from having a presence, a voice, any real value.

We’ll discuss how to moderate our own egos, and how to deal with the people we encounter in our personal and professional lives who seem to operate in a state of constant over-inflation.
